FAQ – Self Storage

  • Storage WISE provides brick garages, as well as steel shipping containers as fixed storage in Irene on our site.

  • Storage WISE contracts with a commercial insurance provider to offer cover for your stored goods. The insurance cover is completely optional and offered at an additional cost of just R60 (VAT included) per month, per store. More information is available upon request.

  • Yes, a sturdy padlock should be purchased, and the keys kept by the tenant. No keys are kept on the premises.

  • Access hours are from 06h00 to 19h00, seven days a week.

  • Storage WISE ensures secure storage by providing a number of security layers. Storage WISE's premises are enclosed by steel palisade fencing with razor wire on top. Security is monitored on a 24/7 basis with CCTV surveillance linked to an external control room linked to ADT armed response and the SAPS. Furthermore, on-site guards are being monitored by CCTV surveillance and are in constant contact with the contract security's control room. In case of emergency, both the contract security company, ADT armed reaction and the SAPS is summoned to assist.

  • Storage WISE operates on a month to month agreement, requiring one month's written notice.

  • Storage WISE is located on the M57, Goede Hoop Avenue, in the Doornkloof Agricultural Holdings, in Irene.

  • Storage WISE has a large trailer, with 2.5 ton capacity, which is made available to tenants, free of charge. Tenants need to provide their own towing vehicle and manpower for loading and offloading.

  • One calendar month's written notice is required, which forms are available from the office or can be supplied via email.

  • The tenant in whose name the rental agreement is registered must notify Storage WISE of the loss of keys. Upon visiting the storage facility, proof of identification must be supplied, together with the store number. A new padlock can be provided to the tenant at a small fee. Storage WISE's personnel will, by prior arrangement, assist in removing the previous lock at a fee of R50 per lock removed.

  • Either written permission should be provided by the registered tenant, together with the name and ID number of the person to whom access should be given, or the registered tenant should accompany the person concerned. Store number needs to be provided, as well as identification.

  • The tenant is responsible for the removal of all goods, unwanted goods and rubbish from the store and site. Staff should not be offered goods, in order to evade this requirement.

  • Registering of tenant's fingerprints, and only designated persons, approved by the registered tenant, prevent random access by other persons. The provision by the tenant of their own padlock, and the safekeeping of the key by them, also ensures only authorised access to your store.

  • Should this unfortunate situation occur, please contact the personnel at Storage WISE, in order to make an arrangement for settling your overdue rental payments speedily. In order to minimise collection fees, it is recommended to rather terminate the rental agreement and vacate the store(s) if settling of your account is uncertain for an extended period of time.

  • No electricity or lights are provided per store.

  • A deposit and first month's rental is payable, prior to occupation, thereafter, a debit order system is utilized for further monthly payments. An EFT transfer is preferred for the initial payment. Storage WISE does not have card facilities at the office, and prefers not to take cash on site.

  • Once the store is vacated, details are sent to our accounts department, for processing and closing of the account. The deposit is then refunded into the account used for the debit order, after approximately 14 days.

  • Maintenance or physical work is not allowed on site. This is a storage facility.

  • There are no alarms supplied to individual stores.

  • Storage WISE understands that your privacy is important to you and that you care about how your personal information is used.
